Social networking applications are the most necessary applications all of us keep on our mobile devices. We spend the majority of our digital life with these applications. Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and many such applications allow us to express, interact and intercept how we connect with others around us. Our society is rapidly moving from tea stalls or university canteens (until 2010 or so) to metaverse (in 2025). Hence it is time to upgrade our Governance and Democracy to 2.0. In these 2 hours, we will see the past, present, and future of the social networks and social media's role in governance and democracy. There will be a demo of present research for certain tasks of governance and involving citizens' opinions in it.
